Solution Architect (Customer Servicing)
Locations: Swindon or London
Hybrid (2 days on site, 3 days remote)
We’re seeking a skilled Solution Architect to define and realize strategic IT outcomes through change and innovation.
Nationwide aims to create engaging digital experiences and modernize its technology to support customers better, especially within the 'Customer Servicing' domain, which focuses on systems used by front-line colleagues.
The successful candidate will be responsible for architecture and solution design, providing technical leadership, and ensuring solution integrity within the Colleague Servicing landscape.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence a major transformation, leveraging both on-premise and cloud-native technologies in a regulated environment.
Nationwide supports hybrid working, with at least two days per week at the office in Swindon or London, and the rest remote.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shape and improve architecture capabilities to meet evolving needs.
* Champion new technologies and methodologies, including cloud solutions.
* Develop target state roadmaps and architecture runways.
* Lead and create solution designs aligned with strategic goals and architecture standards.
* Collaborate with external partners to ensure future-proof architecture.
* Ensure end-to-end solution architecture integrity.
About You:
* Experience in reviewing technical designs and participating in proof of concepts.
* Proven leadership in delivering resilient solutions.
* Strong technical background with cloud experience (AWS, Azure).
* Ability to interpret business needs and align technical solutions.
* Excellent communication skills across stakeholders.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
* Experience in retail banking domains like Retail Services, Collections, or Remediation.
* Experience with customer/colleague systems and regulated environments.
* Knowledge of on-premise and cloud solutions, security, and working with third-party vendors.
