Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with relevant experience and skills to join our Monitoring Laboratory based in Leeds. You will contribute to the Environment Agency's response to climate change by working within a small team carrying out the analysis of solid and liquid environmental samples.

Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team delivering a high-quality analytical service to defined time, cost and quality targets
* Analyze samples using a variety of extraction techniques and state-of-the-art instrumentation
* Keep work areas tidy
* Ensure Health and Safety procedures are adhered to
* Carry out routine laboratory tasks (e.g., routine calibrations, stock control, making of analytical standards)
* Participate in the pollution incident rota
Experience/Skills Required
* Experience in an analytical laboratory with knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* Problem-solving skills (desirable)
* Experience in a quality standard environment or UKAS-accredited laboratory is desirable but not essential
