This role offers a hybrid work setup, combining remote work with regular visits to our modern offices in Welwyn Garden City.
What will you be doing?
* Contributing to a fast-paced, agile, product-driven team to enhance delivery and technical capabilities.
* Developing clean, SOLID principles-compliant code aligned with architecture.
* Focusing on back-end development, expanding your skills with new languages and tools.
* Ensuring quality from the outset with automated QA environments.
* Implementing security-conscious features.
* Meeting both functional and non-functional requirements.
* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Delivering high-quality, well-tested software within challenging deadlines.
* Overcoming obstacles pragmatically with a positive attitude.
* Maintaining comprehensive documentation and collaborative work practices.
* Supporting application stability through out-of-hours support rotations.
* Translating technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
* Delivering on ambitious timelines and ensuring production stability and security.
What would we like from you?
* Several years’ experience as a software engineer.
* Adherence to industry standards like SOLID and clean code.
* Experience designing applications in micro-service architectures with security considerations.
* Strong Azure Cloud experience (Networking, Storage, Kubernetes, etc.).
* .NET Core / .NET 6+ and C# proficiency.
* Experience with Java, web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.), Web API, and front-end frameworks.
* Database skills with SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and ORM technologies.
* Testing and source control experience (NUnit, MSTest, xUnit, Azure DevOps, GIT).
* Agile or DevOps experience, TDD, CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills
* DevSecOps experience.
* Android app development with React.
* Messaging frameworks, additional ORM knowledge, and experience with tools like SSIS, SSRS, MSMQ, Postman, Selenium, Cypress, Splunk.
* Knowledge of newer languages like Golang or Rust.
