Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK's next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We're now looking for a Head of Documents and Records to lead on growing team of Record Leads and Document Controllers to ensure overall compliance with nuclear industry and major project best practice in documented information and records management of all activities across the Sizewell C project organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Sizewell C team. If you're an experienced IM Manager, Head of IM, or Head of Information Systems who has worked on complex, fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure projects, this could be the ideal next step in your career.

Responsibilities

As Head of Documents and Records, you will work to ensure that the documented information and records management arrangements and requirements are clearly communicated for effective deployment by the organisation and its supply chain.

You'll support the Quality Director to discharge responsibilities for compliance with several Nuclear Site License Conditions. Accountable and responsible for all documented information and records management processes across the Project and its Programmes.

You will lead a mixed team of around 45-50 people - comprising both permanent staff and embedded contractors - providing strategic direction and operational leadership across the wider function. A central part of the role involves managing the organisation's corporate compliance records, ensuring they are accurate, accessible and compliant with all legal, regulatory and licence-based requirements.

The decisions you make in this position have a direct impact on nuclear safety, requiring rigorous governance, strong professional judgement and robust standards for document control and records integrity. At Sizewell, our Head of Documents and Records role carries a broader remit, with responsibility for both internal corporate records and project records, ensuring consistency and compliance across all areas of the organisation.

Who You Are

We're seeking a proactive project professional with strong experience in strategic project management and major project delivery - ideally involving heavy diesel equipment, rotating plant, turbines, submarines, or conventional island power plants.

You'll have the technical confidence to translate complex engineering concepts for various audiences and bring proven expertise in design delivery, contract execution, cost management, and risk control. Familiarity with Earned Value tools and managing commercial claims is important.

This role offers genuine long-term career development, with opportunities to progress into senior leadership positions within the nuclear island programme or other major delivery programmes across Sizewell C.

Additional Information

Join the team at Sizewell C. Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear.

The Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. We have begun constructing a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the East of England replicating, wherever possible, the design used for Hinkley Point C, another nuclear power station being built in Somerset.

When built, Sizewell C will be one of the largest power stations to operate in the UK. The power station will generate low carbon electricity for at least 60 years, supplying over 6 million homes and supporting around 7% of the UK's current electricity needs.

Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear. We want Sizewell C to define what good leadership for the nuclear industry and British infrastructure looks like and deliver on it. We understand the feats of organisation, logistics, collaboration and imagination that building nuclear requires. We are building for the next generation for their home-grown energy, energy price stability and ultra-low carbon power in abundance. We also want to set the benchmark for maximising long-lasting social value as we build and demonstrate how smart collaboration can work for the benefit of communities - locally, regionally and nationally.

We are the first nuclear power station in the UK to be funded under the Regulated Asset Base funding model (RAB). Our largest shareholder is the UK Government, alongside equity partners La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Sizewell C operates within a complex and fast-moving stakeholder environment, engaging with a wide range of partners including government bodies, regulators, local communities, supply chain partners, and international collaborators. This makes Sizewell C a uniquely stimulating place to work - where navigating evolving priorities, balancing interests, and building trusted relationships is just as critical as technical excellence. For those who thrive in dynamic, multi-dimensional settings, it offers unmatched professional challenge and growth.

When joining Sizewell C, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.

At Sizewell C we encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work. It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility that we can explore, we are fully committed to local recruitment where possible, and those already holding the right to work in the UK.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

By submitting an application to this role, you acknowledge that you have read and understood Sizewell C's employee privacy policy and EDF's employee privacy policy. Just to let you know, EDF will be processing and sharing information about your application on behalf of Sizewell C.
