If you like working as part of a team and can work accurately and meet deadlines, we want to hear from you. We have a part‑time vacancy to support the Cardiology Department in Weston General Hospital to provide an efficient and effective patient‑focused service. The successful applicant will support the Cardiology Consultants. Key tasks will include typing and transcription of clinical and correspondence letters, as well as sending out patient letters, monitoring e‑mail inboxes, uploading results, scanning and maintaining patient records.
Main duties of the job
The role will work within the cardiology department supporting the senior secretaries and wider team to type clinical and correspondence letters. The role will also include supporting and communicating with patients and other professions through emails and telephone calls.

Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of dealing with the public, both on the telephone and in person
* Clerical/administrative experience
* Previous NHS experience
Skills and Abilities
* Effective and polite manner when dealing with people, both face‑to‑face and on the phone
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
* Ability to work on your own, using your own initiative, if required
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
* Ability to adapt to use new computer packages and programmes
* Effective organisational skills
Qualifications and Training
* Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
