Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the phlebotomy team. If you are enthusiastic about patient care and have a desire to work in a supportive, compassionate, and dedicated team, then this is the role for you.
The phlebotomy service operates across Warrington & Halton hospital sites, some General Practitioners in Runcorn, and several Health Hubs within these areas.
This is a 20-hour per week contract. Core hours are from 7am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, covering all 7 days.
Salary
£11.45 per hour, approximately £11,937 annually, pro-rata for 20 hours a week, subject to satisfactory personal development and performance.
Weekend working is on a rotational basis to support service demands.
Hours will be discussed at the interview stage.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities include collecting blood samples via venepuncture and capillary methods from both adults and children.
The successful candidate must be computer literate. Knowledge of Lorenzo is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Additional duties may include clerical and housekeeping tasks.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent customer care, communication skills with patients, staff, and managers, and work well within a team. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential.
Flexibility in working hours is required to meet service needs.
Phlebotomy experience is highly desirable; however, training and qualification can be provided upon completion of the training.
