About the Role
We are seeking a Credit Controller to join our Central Credit Control team in Bristol. This varied and fast-paced role will see you managing your own credit control portfolio, producing Management Information, and reviewing credit control processes to ensure compliance with the firm’s standard procedures.
1. Establishing and maintaining effective communication links with both internal and external clients at all levels
2. Be accountable and take ownership of your allocated ledger and be proactive in managing the collection and resolution of debt and individual queries
3. Ensure problem debts or bad debts are escalated for further action and recommend recovery solutions to internal colleagues and Directors
4. Develop client relationships to understand the agreed payment terms and processes and improve the service delivered by the Credit Control team
5. Build strong relationships with internal customers and arrange regular debt reviews to ensure all debts are chased in a timely manner
6. Preparation of Management Information and other reports as requested by the Credit Control Manager
7. Ensure unallocated monies are identified
8. Raise the credit control team profile by providing guidance and support to internal customers to support company growth
9. Prioritisation of workload to achieve targets
10. Monthly cash forecasting of own credit control portfolio, discuss and agree with Senior Directors prior to submission and ensure team member's forecasts are submitted by the agreed dates
11. Lead monthly debt conference calls with internal stakeholders
12. Ad-hoc tasks as required by the Credit Control Manager
About You
The successful candidate will have proven credit control experience. They will be detail‑oriented, proactive and assertive—particularly on the telephone—and able to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels. Strong IT skills are required, with confident use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel). You should be comfortable working on your own initiative or following direction, with excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational ability, and the capacity to multi‑task while contributing positively to the team.
