About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to guide the development of next-generation control and data processing solutions for mission-critical applications. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative engineering projects on time, to budget, and to the highest standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in Systems, Electronics, or Software Engineering who is ready to step into a leadership role, or for an experienced technical lead looking to expand their career in project and team management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Balance competing technical requirements and manage workload priorities.
Contribute to the design, development, and testing of complex hardware and software systems.
Prepare and present design reviews, project status, and technical documentation.
Work collaboratively with project managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Support customer and supplier meetings, ensuring technical integrity and quality of deliverables.
Maintain awareness of developments within the competitive and technological landscape.
About You
Degree in an engineering or science discipline (or equivalent experience).
Experience in project leadership or in one of the following disciplines: systems, software, or electronics engineering.
Strong technical understanding across multiple domains (electronics, software, systems, mechanical).
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Desirable experience:
Leading complex projects involving significant software, electronics, and systems engineering.
Background in Defence, Aerospace, or other safety-critical industries.
Knowledge of standards such as DO-178, DO-254, IEC 61508, or relevant UK Defence Standards.
Experience designing and testing against demanding environmental or safety standards
