We’re looking for a highly organised Project Officer to support the delivery of ExCASES as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary research group. This group supports the Renew Biodiversity programme - a major NERC-funded initiative tackling the urgent challenge of biodiversity renewal. This is a collaborative partnership between the National Trust and the University of Exeter. You’ll play a central role in coordinating an interdisciplinary team of researchers working with diverse partners, and stakeholders. From organising events and managing communications to supporting financial processes and reporting, your work will help ensure the smooth running and impact of this ambitious, cross-institutional team. This is a fixed term post available from July 2025 to January 2027. We’re willing to consider part time hours for the role. You’ll support researchers from a range of disciplines who work collaboratively to develop innovative solutions to real world biodiversity connected problems and communicate these insights in ways that are targeted, accessible, and capable of influencing real-world outcomes. Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week, there are a number of hub offices located around England and Wales. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. The role will require occasional travel for meetings, workshops and collaborative activities. What you'll be doing Reporting to Professor Matt Heard, National Trust you’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth running of the project and achievement of its aims and objectives. You’ll liaise with co-investigators, researchers and other administrators involved in the RENEW programme to maximise efficiency and coherence in communication, scheduling and reporting. You’ll coordinate with relevant departments at the National Trust and University of Exeter to ensure all administrative protocols are adhered to and project events are properly equipped. The support will include travel bookings, event organisation, expenses processing, budgetary support and record keeping. The successful candidate will have excellent administration and organisational skills, and ideally prior experience of providing administrative and PA support. The ability to prioritise a demanding workload and to work independently is crucial. Who we're looking for The Project Administrator will support the effective delivery of ExCASES projects by helping to coordinate activities, communications, and financial processes. We’d love to hear from you if you have experience: Organising meetings, events, and travel logistics, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. Supporting internal and external communications, including social media content and media asset management. Assisting with financial administration, including expense processing, budget tracking, and compliance with university and funder requirements. Helping to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support project monitoring and dissemination. Liaising with researchers and external partners to ensure smooth project operations. Providing general administrative support to the project team and acting as a key point of contact for enquiries. The package The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
