Agricultural Commodities Risk Control and Insights Manager
Location: Uxbridge, UK
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week office based
The Agri Commodities Risk Control and Insights Manager is responsible for ensuring robust risk management, accurate reporting, and actionable insights across the agricultural commodities portfolio, including grains, oilseeds, and pigs. The role supports procurement and commercial teams by providing high-quality analysis, data governance, and reporting that enables effective decision-making, customer engagement, and delivery of sustainability commitments.
This is a pivotal position requiring strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage detailed data while presenting clear insights to senior management and customers
Key Responsibilities\Measures of Success
* Risk Control & Management: Ensure accurate reporting of price risks, positions, and coverage of livestock and feed commodities to the business.
* System Automation & Reporting: Lead efforts to automate procurement systems and processes, improving efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity. Develop and manage automated reporting tools for regular updates on procurement performance, risk analysis, and commodity pricing.
* Price Exposure Analysis: Work closely with the commercial finance, supply chain and procurement teams to analyse price exposures with customer models, ensuring pricing decisions align with market conditions and considering carcass balances of animals.
* Data Analysis & Forecasting: Provide accurate and timely analysis of technical market trends of commodity pricing. Translate complex information into clear insights to support data driven decision making and prepare presentations accordingly.
* Admin & Documentation: Manage the administrative tasks related to feed and livestock procurement, ensuring all contracts, agreements, and documentation are properly maintained and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the procurement, finance, supply chain and trading teams to align risk management strategies, pricing models, and trading plans with broader company objectives.
* Supplier & Vendor Relations: Support procurement teams in managing relationships with suppliers, ensuring they are aligned with the company's risk management strategies and pricing expectations. Collaborate with Accounts Payable and sites to deal with any payment queries
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
* Proficiency in data analysis, processing, reporting tools, and advanced Excel functions. Familiarity with Python, Power BI and systems for process optimisation is a plus.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear reporting visuals, actionable business insights and pricing strategies.
* Strong understanding of financial modelling, customer models, and how procurement pricing impacts overall business profitability.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, with an eye for detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Proven experience in procurement, risk management, and pricing analysis, ideally within the feed, livestock, or commodities sectors.
* Experience with risk management practices, price exposure analysis, and developing mitigation strategies.
* Experience analysing charts within a commodity function
