Reporting to the Engineering Manager – Mechanical Component for UK Naval you will be working along side a strong team engaged in solving exciting challenges within our Naval Projects portfolio. Within this role you are responsible for the Design and development of a number of test rigs to support out Naval Projects. You will be responsible for taking this from a blank piece of paper through to functional test rig and beyond. As the Validation and Verification engineer you will lead the facility development team, including co-ordination, task assignment and supervision of the efforts of engineers internally and externally to meet the aims of the project. You will be responsible for specification and set up of DAQ equipment as well as capturing high quality test data in accordance with test requirements, throughout the project. Other key responsibilities of the role; Develop technical specification and design the test components to meet required function. Lead test vehicle FMEA and risk management processes Deliver the required outputs to quality, time and budget, reporting in line with project department requirements Lead commissioning of the facility and setting up of appropriate processes Deliver good quality testing, analysis and reporting. Drive knowledge capture and sharing Perform engineering work for the project such as report writing, design studies, drawing approval and presentation material Manage documentation tracking tools, schedule and design reviews. Customer presentations and meetings. Understand the equipment's safe operation, installation and maintenance needs. This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance. Due to the sensitivity of the project the successful post older must be a British passport holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority. Requirements and Experience Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering Demonstrable experience within a similar role within Test/Validation and Verification Engineering Experience or sound knowledge of design engineering Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, turbines preferable but not essential Desirable Characteristics A natural problem solver with exceptional organisational skills Ability to influence and lead a multi- disciplined team to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in a variety of formats Practical engineer, resilient, good at diagnostics, inquisitive, collaborative Join us and work with global teams to support global customers !
