Job Description
Provide specialist technical and business expertise for a diverse range of Digital Line of Business Systems and Services, including hardware, software, training, project management, and digital communication resources. Ensure effective support and maintenance of Digital Line of Business Systems aligned with organizational needs. As an IT team member, deliver a modern, professional, and customer-focused service supporting the organization's vision and mission.
Summary of Responsibilities
1. Digital System Management: Offer technical knowledge and business expertise for managing Digital Line of Business (LOB) Systems and Services such as Finance, HR, Stores, Prevention and Protection, Fleet, and Operational Applications.
2. Manage development and implementation of existing and new Digital LOB systems and projects to meet business goals.
3. Handle day-to-day service requests and incidents using a Service Management tool, ensuring SLA standards are met, collaborating with external suppliers and stakeholders.
4. Oversee existing and new system infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, security, and asset management across hardware, software, and licenses.
5. Participate in discussions and meetings regarding tenders, contracts, technical support, and site demonstrations.
6. Communicate technical issues to users and stakeholders effectively.
7. Identify and evaluate decisions impacting service provision and organizational operations.
8. Coordinate change release and management activities, including system upgrades and changes with stakeholders and CAB.
9. Contribute to Service Transition Assurance Process (STAP) documentation.
10. Assist in managing operational risks associated with services.
11. Analyze user requirements, design, develop, test, document, and support complex IT solutions, providing advanced technical knowledge.
12. Design, deliver, and conduct staff training on Line of Business Systems.
13. Participate in quality initiatives, including ISO 20000 compliance.
14. Monitor and maintain IT service performance, ensuring capacity and availability, taking proactive and reactive measures.
15. Serve as the primary contact in the absence of the Head of IT for relevant services and disaster recovery scenarios.
Essential Criteria
* Degree in IT, Systems Development, or a related field.
* At least 2 years’ experience as a Systems Manager or 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience managing and upgrading IT systems, troubleshooting advanced issues.
* Effective planning, organization, communication, and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving license or access to suitable transport.
