As a Clinical Lead you will oversee adult community speech‑language therapy services in Enfield, provide expert advice, lead clinical governance, manage a complex caseload and drive service improvement.
Band 8a, permanent, full‑time, salary £61,631‑£68,623 per annum, located at St Michael’s Hospital, Gater Drive, Enfield.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the clinical organisation and development of adult community SLT services.
* Provide highly specialist advice to rehabilitation and therapy teams.
* Lead clinical governance, service audits and quality improvement initiatives.
* Manage a complex caseload of adults with acquired pathologies, applying advanced clinical reasoning.
* Strategically work with AHP leads and senior stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
* Supervise staff, deliver in‑service training and conduct performance appraisals.
* Allocate resources and justify decisions to patients, carers and stakeholders.
* Support and educate patients and carers in managing complex SLT needs.
* Formulate and deliver individualized treatment programmes, evaluate progress and modify plans accordingly.
* Develop comprehensive management plans with multidisciplinary team members.
* Ensure compliance with child protection and Enfield protection policies.
* Monitor that service delivery is patient‑goal led and best practice.
Person Specification
* Education & Qualifications – RCSLT recognised diploma/degree in SLT, HCPC registered, postgraduate dysphagia qualification.
* Experience – Band 7 level clinical work in community MDT setting, clinical supervision, advanced practitioner experience, dysphagia management, audit participation, AAC implementation.
* Skills – Advanced communication and clinical reasoning, stakeholder engagement, teaching and supervision, training delivery, time management, IT proficiency.
* Desirables – Master’s degree or equivalent, CEN membership, research project experience.
