Job Description
the successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to help pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
* Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and differentiated activities.
* Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
* Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
* Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, external professionals, and families.
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Desirable Requirements
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs.
* Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and inclusive learning practices.
* Experience using visual supports, Makaton, or alternative communication methods.
