Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - AMHT Bedford
A Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is required for our CAMHS Adolescent Mental Health Team based in Bedford. This is a 1.0 WTE, 10 sessions post.
Bedford CAMHS is part of the ELFT Specialist Services directorate, providing assessment and treatment for young people with mental health disorders up to the age of 18 years.
All ELFT CAMH Services include multidisciplinary teams based on care pathways such as:
* Adolescent Mental Health Team
* Emotional & Behavioural Teams
* Neurodevelopmental Team (Learning Disability, Autism, +/- ADHD)
* LAC / Targeted Team
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will contribute to clinical leadership, work within a multidisciplinary team, provide psychiatric assessments and treatments when appropriate, and manage high-risk cases.
The Trust promotes a progressive environment with strong clinical leadership and encourages formal training in Quality Improvement methodologies, leading QI initiatives within their services.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully registered with the GMC
* On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT on an approved higher training scheme
* Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
* Approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
* Approved Clinician status
Knowledge & Experience
* Clinical experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at SpR, SASG, or consultant level within the last 3 years
* Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act
* Understanding of transcultural and gender issues in psychiatry and commitment to culturally sensitive practices
* Knowledge of social factors affecting child & adolescent psychiatry
* Ability to build effective relationships with patients, families, and professionals
* Higher training in a psychotherapeutic modality (e.g., Family Therapy, CBT, psychotherapy)

* Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
* Innovative in designing and implementing treatment programs
