About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Service Support Officer to be recruited to the Corporate Service Support structure. This is a full-time permanent position, which will provide an agile administrative support function across the Authority, with a particular focus on high-quality bilingual minute taking.
About the Role:
The role will primarily be providing support to the Through Age Safeguarding Service, with one of the primary responsibilities focusing on confidential minute taking to support functions such as Adult Protection, Child Protection and Fostering Panel. There will also be a wider requirement to provide support with HR Disciplinary Meetings and other complex multi-agency meetings, as the need requires.
About the Candidate:
We are seeking a candidate who is educated to NVQ 4 in Business Admin or has equivalent experience. Four years’ experience of working within an administrative setting, with a strong background in minute taking will be essential. You must have good IT skills and a methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail. The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and work within multi-disciplinary teams will also be important.
The candidate will need to be flexible and adaptable as there will be the requirement for the post holder to move between teams, dependent on service needs and to manage increased workloads. The ability to meet the required Welsh language ALTE levels will also be essential.

Democratic Services
We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include:
3. Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
4. Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
5. Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
6. Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
7. Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
8. Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
