Overall, this is a varied andimportant role within a busy, supportive practice environment, requiring strongIT literacy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach maintaining highstandards of data quality & patient record keeping.
The post is offered as a fixed termcontract until December 2027, however due to ongoing in-house development theremay be opportunity for the role to extend from this date to a permanentcontract.
Main duties of the job
The Data Quality Administrator will workwithin the team to achieve the practice QoF & enhanced servicespecifications for generating practice income, promoting safety for the team tomaintain quality for the Practice by undertaking searches, systems audits, followingthe practice recall system and updating practice templates as required. Ensuringaccuracy of clinical coding in order to capture clinical information to achievethe various contractual specifications.
Job responsibilities
Provide data quality support across thepractice
Maintain good quality of data recorded
Ensure theefficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches,audits and recalls as required by the practice
Interrogate & presentdata for audit purposes, clearly & concisely
Set up & maintainclinical templates & referral letters
Effectivelymonitor patient call and recall systems
Responsible for maintaining and ensuringpractice achievement of QoF or other incentivised contracts held
Read Codinginformation into the practice clinical system consistently & accurately
Ensure accurate report output
Investigate routine data improvementenquiries/queries and provide assistance and advice as required
Identifydata quality trends and assess common themes through regular use of dataquality queries and reporting, and highlight areas for improvement/inaccuraciesto the Data Quality & IT Lead to improve processes or resolve problems
Assist and participate with regular DataQuality Audits using clinical systems
Ensure enhanced service claims are madecorrectly and appropriately
Effectively keep & maintain recordsof claims for payment
Provideaudit statistics to the ICB / NHSE or other governing bodies when required
Support the sustainable improvement indata quality across the practice IT systems (e.g. through the output of dataquality audits)
Use own judgement to resolve dataimprovement issues
Keep abreast of relevant guidance inrelation to data quality practices & contracts
Be able to work without supervision, butfeel confident to seek advice when needed
Summarising of patient medical recordsfollowing practice protocols
Be a contributing member of the DataQuality Team
Preparestatistical or data reports as requested by the practice
Process& keep safeguarding records in accordance with practice policy
Support and guide members of staff inthe use of the computer system
Report faults to software supplier
Attend meetings relevant to the post
Minute meetings where required
Ensure the security and confidentialityof all clinical data handled, including the safe keeping of all health records.
Maintain strict confidentiality inrelation to all issues concerned within the service and adhere to therequirements of the Data Protection Act 1984, Information Governance andCaldicott Principles.
Undertake any otheradditional duties appropriate to the post as requested by management orpartners.
