Job Description
We are seeking an experienced P6 Planner with a strong background in delivering engineering projects in nuclear or other high-hazard, highly regulated environments. The role is pivotal in developing, integrating, and maintaining robust project schedules that underpin safe and efficient delivery in a high-safety context. A particular emphasis on long-range integrated schedules and schedule risk management to support decision-making in a complex, high-hazard environment.\n\nJob Title: P6 Planner\nRate: £54 Inside IR35 (Inclusive of base location expenses)\nLocation: Reading (2-3 days on-site per week)\nContract Duration: 6-12 months\nStart Date: ASAP\nKey Accountabilities\n\nProvide specialist planning expertise to internal customers and project teams, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of schedule information and developing and maintaining fully integrated, resource-loaded schedules across multiple engineering disciplines.\nImplement and uphold planning processes, policies, and procedures in line with project and corporate governance requirements.\nDeliver long-range operational integrated programme planning activities to support strategic project milestones alongside supporting the Planning Lead and Project Controls Manager in managing emergent projects and schedule changes.\nPromote and maintain the highest personal and professional standards in safety, health, environment, security, and quality (SHEQ).\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDeliver project controls planning and earned value management (EVM) analysis, producing accurate forecasts to inform business and operational decisions while undertaking schedule variance and performance analysis (SPI) to ensure robust monitoring and reporting.\nSupport the deployment of planning tools, EVMS, templates, and training for project stakeholders and engage with project stakeholders across engineering, safety, and regulatory functions to ensure schedule integrity and alignment with delivery objectives.\nReview and refine project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), making recommendations to optimise project controls.\nRequirements:\n\nStrong understanding and use of Primavera P6 planning within engineering projects.\nMandatory experience in nuclear, defence, or equivalent high-hazard, highly regulated environments.\nStrong understanding of integrated scheduling techniques across multi-disciplinary projects and demonstrable expertise in earned value management (EVM) and variance analysis.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.\nStrong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.\nPlease note that this role will require UK Security Clearance!
