The leadership team at Belford Hospital is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Radiology Manager for a fixed term/secondment period until January 2027 to join our small friendly team in providing a 24/7 Plain film, CT, and Ultrasound service over two sites to complement our established team.
Fort William is the outdoor capital of the UK and offers opportunities for outdoor leisure pursuits, stunning scenery, wildlife, low crime, and good schools in a friendly community, within 2 hours drive of Inverness, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
Based primarily at Belford Hospital, it is a busy Rural General Hospital covering a large area. It has a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 17-bed CAU, 2-bed HDU, and a 15-bed Rehabilitation ward. Broadford Hospital in Skye is an enhanced Community Hospital with a 24-hour Emergency Department and acute care services.
The X-ray Departments are equipped with general purpose DR x-ray units, a screening unit, a 64 slice CT scanner (Belford only), and an ultrasound scanner. The hospital also has CR, RIS, and PACS systems.
The Lead Radiographer role is integral, supporting staff and service quality, managing and developing the Radiology Team to deliver high standards of care using available resources effectively.
You will work with a small team of radiographers and sonographers, providing operational and professional management both locally and for the rural radiology department on the Isle of Skye.
You should have robust clinical skills, a commitment to lifelong learning and teaching, and an innovative approach to service development.
This role offers an opportunity to influence future services through the Lochaber re-design project and help develop a sustainable model for the future.
