Join Our Team as a Deputy Ward Manager - Male PICU Unit, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal
We're looking for a dynamic and compassionate Deputy Ward Manager (RMN) to join our Male PICU team at Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offering a competitive salary plus, £5,000 welcome bonus and enhanced rates for overtime, weekends, and bank holidays. You'll support the Ward Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Job Advert Role Description
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Ward Manager in delivering a safe, therapeutic, and inclusive environment for patients, families, and staff.
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, governance frameworks, and statutory requirements, including risk management.
* Lead shifts, act as named nurse, and supervise a defined group of staff, supporting their training, supervision, and performance.
* Identify and address staffing or skill mix issues to maintain safe, high-quality care.
* Role model professional behaviour, promoting a culture of learning, inquiry, and continuous development.
* Plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic interventions within personalised care programmes.
* Support multidisciplinary teamwork, patient engagement, and collaborative problem-solving.
* Take on delegated lead roles and deputise for the Ward Manager as required, contributing to recruitment and retention efforts.
Knowledge / Education / Skills
* Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting the requirements of Revalidation
* Trained Assessor/Supervisor
* Clinical Supervision experience essential, training desirable
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development and intent to maintain and develop Continued professional development and leadership
* Good computer skills
