Supply Hive are working with a fantastic special school in High Wycombe who are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their PMLD department from September. This school supports children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Their approach is nurturing, child-focused, and built on strong communication and trust. The staff team are passionate about creating a calm, consistent and joyful learning environment – and they’re looking for someone to bring the same energy and commitment. What you’ll be doing: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with daily routines, learning and sensory-based activities Using communication tools (like PECs, objects of reference or Makaton) to engage learners Providing personal care when needed (toileting, feeding, mobility support) Working closely with class teachers and therapists to ensure pupils thrive Being a reliable, warm and positive presence in the classroom ✅ What we’re looking for: Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex needs (ideally PMLD, SLD or ASD) Someone who is patient, proactive and emotionally resilient A team player who’s happy to get stuck in and learn on the job A strong communicator with a good sense of humour and calm approach Someone committed to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable learners Pay: £90–£99 per day depending on experience.
