We are currently looking to recruit two HCPC registered Mammographers to the Breast Imaging team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on a fixed-term contract. We are a close-knit group of dedicated, forward-thinking healthcare professionals committed to providing a first-class Breast Service for patients across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
Our Mammographers are key members of our multidisciplinary workforce, working alongside Consultants, Clinical Specialists, Advanced Practitioners, and Assistant Practitioners. We offer opportunities to develop new skills and participate in screening, triple assessment, family history, and breast cancer follow-up. As a Band 6 Mammographer, we support leadership projects in line with the trust’s ‘Leading the Chesterfield Way’ framework.
We prioritize the health and wellbeing of our staff, offering various initiatives and flexible working arrangements. We welcome applications from mammographers interested in full or part-time roles, including those returning to practice.
This varied role involves working across mobile screening units at picturesque sites in the Peak District and North Derbyshire, as well as at our Chesterfield-based satellite screening site and assessment clinics. You will work with our advanced Hologic mammography units, including Tomosynthesis-guided biopsy. Our department performs approximately 20,000 examinations annually and is committed to service development and improvement.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital offers a friendly, community-oriented environment. Our team is supportive, and we are committed to staff development, providing opportunities to broaden knowledge and skills, including advanced practice areas.
We are seeking a female Mammographer, as this is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975. A full UK driving license and the ability to travel to mobile sites are required.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful Foundation Trust dedicated to high standards of clinical care, patient experience, and staff wellbeing. Our values emphasize compassionate, inclusive leadership.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is North Derbyshire's only acute District General Hospital, serving over 400,000 residents. We are modern, well-resourced, and within commuting distance of Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, and the Peak District. The hospital offers ample staff parking.
The Care Quality Commission rates us as ‘Good’. Our vision is ‘Exceptional patient care provided by exceptional people’. We collaborate with partners across health and care as part of the Joined-Up Care Derbyshire Integrated Care System.

Our department is working towards QSI accreditation and promotes adherence to current legislation, policies, and evidence-based practice.
