The role
Lead winning bids from strategy to signing. You will manage end‑to‑end proposal efforts – from early capture planning with Sales through to contract negotiation and signing, driving bid/no‑bid decisions, ensuring compliance with processes and guaranteeing the timely delivery of high‑quality tenders.
Responsibilities
* Lead and organise tenders in collaboration with Sales, Product Managers, Legal, Compliance, Finance and technical experts.
* Advise Sales and Operations on process requirements and risks.
* Review and assure the quality of tenders while engaging key decision‑makers.
* Participate in negotiations with prime contractors to secure favourable terms and maximise deal value.
* Prepare pricing and profitability calculations for management approval.
* Coordinate subcontractor offers and approvals in line with compliance requirements.
The team
You will join an experienced and global team of 4–5 Bid Managers based in the UK, Germany and Denmark, with plans to expand internationally over the next couple of years. You will work out of our office in Farnborough, UK, and report into the Defence Sales organisation while collaborating daily with stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, the USA and the Asia‑Pacific.
Qualifications
* Proven proposal leadership and IT industry insight.
* Experience managing complex international tenders, ideally within defence, IT or related technical sectors.
* Superior communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
* Works independently with minimal guidance and actively seeks feedback to improve.
* Curious, open‑minded, collaborative and eager to learn, teach and share knowledge.
* Calm under pressure with a “yes, we can” attitude, juggling competing priorities, providing rapid feedback, and driving progress with urgency.
* A bachelor’s degree from a sales‑related domain.
* Background in selling or delivering IT solutions, or experience from similar technical industries (e.g., offshore or aviation).
* Experience at identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Must be able to live and work in the UK and meet the requirements for a BPSS check or additional security checks commensurate with your role.
