Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to deliver effective ICT training on all Probation Service systems and processes to new and existing admin and operational staff at all grades across the region. The Regional ICT Trainer reports to the Regional ICT Training Specialist and will travel across the region to deliver training to colleagues.
Contribute to the effective delivery of the Regional ICT Training Plan by providing training to new and existing staff of all grades and supporting the ICT Training Specialist as required. Nationally and locally agreed lesson plans will be delivered using a blended learning approach tailored to group and individual needs.
Responsibilities
* Deliver ICT training to groups of staff using national and locally agreed lesson plans, either face‑to‑face or via MS Teams; provide group presentations, workshops and individual coaching as required.
* Prepare for training events, online and in the classroom, ensuring all materials are available, current and accurate.
* Ensure training delivery and documentation are inclusive of diversity issues and individual learning needs, including support for assistive technology users.
* Maintain the ICT training database, updating the training system in preparation for a course, administering bookings through myLearning, obtaining attendance lists, and sending join instructions to learners.
* Assist the ICT Training Specialist in keeping training materials up to date and propose improvements.
* Produce training material in a variety of media formats, including e‑learning, video and virtual platforms.
* Evaluate training events, analysing feedback to check achievement of expected outcomes and improve delivery.
* Respond to enquiries about ICT training and associated probation case‑management systems, including email queries from the ICT Training mailbox.
* Accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary; significant adjustments may require re‑examination under the Job Evaluation Scheme.
Qualifications & Competencies
* Deliver training and presentations to diverse groups of people.
* Interpret and present technical and complex information to staff of differing abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience of teaching or delivering training to a diverse mix of staff within a work environment.
* Knowledge of teaching adults and associated learning methods.
* Strong IT skills with in‑depth knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ongoing requirement to maintain knowledge of relevant documents, systems and processes to respond accurately to delegate queries.
Experience
* Experience of teaching or delivering training to diverse staff.
* Experience with blended learning delivery.
* Experience of developing and presenting training materials.
* Experience of evaluating training effectiveness.
Required Skills
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Proficiency in MS Teams and virtual training platforms.
Work Arrangement
The role offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows, allowing work from a base location, MoJ sites or home. This role is only available in the UK.
