The Role
We are seeking a Pre-Sales Technical Engineer based in the North West to collaborate with integrators, distribution partners, and end users to create and support new opportunities and internal projects, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate will be a team player who maintains Hikvision’s business performance and reputation, fostering sustained business growth.
The main responsibilities include:
* Engaging and supporting Hikvision’s internal staff, distribution partners, integrators, and end users to maximize the design, specification, and utilization of Hikvision products and solutions.
* Providing technical support via phone, email, and internet regarding operational uses, issues, or projects related to the entire product line.
* Offering on-site technical support within the UK and Ireland when required.
* Identifying and supporting training and development needs of partners and customers through regular consultations.
* Proactively assessing customer requirements and recommending solutions that maximize value for both customers and Hikvision.
* Providing coaching to team members to enhance their product knowledge, technical skills, and sales capabilities.
* Exploring additional business opportunities within partners and customers to increase the use of Hikvision products.
* Collaborating with internal teams to ensure opportunities are understood, supported, and executed effectively.
* Monitoring customer support activities and informing sales teams of potential technical risks affecting deal closure.
* Supporting the design and expansion of training programs based on organizational and individual needs.
* Delivering demonstrations, training sessions, and participating in exhibitions or roadshows.
* Maintaining and updating the CRM system with accurate data on customers, projects, and support tickets.
* Responding to technical inquiries about Hikvision products and solutions.
* Supporting and resolving technical issues, liaising with colleagues locally and globally as needed.
* Monitoring and reporting on technical support activities and providing management reports.
* Attending meetings with other company functions to support organizational development.
* Participating in regular training to stay updated on market trends and product knowledge.
Skills:
The ideal candidate should have:
* At least 3 years of relevant experience in surveillance or access control roles.
* Strong ability to prioritize issues and identify options for improving quality and training processes.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and confirm understanding.
* IT network design skills, knowledge, and experience.
* IP CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience.
* Desirable: analogue CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience for existing systems and migration.
