The Opportunity We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Hartlepool Projects Team on a permanent basis, based at Hartlepool Station. As our Construction Manager, you will work closely with the Hartlepool Project Delivery Team, Defueling, and Deconstruction Team, although support to other activities may also be undertaken. You will be managing and coordinating several major projects from inception through to completion, while managing a team of engineers. Pay, benefits and culture We can offer a competitive salary from £45,045 to £110,723 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your competencies, experience and qualifications. What you will be doing As the Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying, implementing and complying with applicable company safety, environmental and quality procedures and policy, and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. You will ensure a proactive and balanced approach to safety (Nuclear, radiological, conventional & environmental) and that frameworks exist for maintaining the Health & Safety of all personnel (including contractors) working on Central Projects on site. Additionally, you will co-ordinate, including Field Supervision, of all construction activities and personnel at site working on the Central Projects’ portfolio and the management of any Project Engineer engaged on construction activities. Who you are As a Construction Manager at EDF, you will be educated to HNC level as a minimum, ideally in engineering, or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and hold a safety management qualification (e.g. NEBOSH). With relevant Project Management/Delivery of Work experience and a good knowledge of all relevant HSE, and in particular CDM legislation, you will be well versed in the preparation of reports and information. With strong proven evidence of garnering industrial, nuclear and environmental safety culture, you will bring experience of managing projects throughout the full construction/commissioning/hand-over lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments. You’ll be responsible for the management of an integrated team including staff, agency and contract personnel. have evident success in managing / developing field execution strategies for project delivery, large multi-discipline projects, control of costs and change, close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations, the design / construction interface to ensure a smooth transition / handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface and the construction / commissioning interface to ensure a smooth transition / handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface. However, role specific training shall be provided to the successful candidate.
