Overview
Board Member, BLUE OCTOPUS RECRUITMENT LTD — Board role at Guardian Jobs. 3 years fixed-term contract. Flexible with a mix of online and in-person meetings in Gloucester. £4,500 per annum plus relevant training (an uplift in salary expected to come into effect in 2026). Approx. two days per month plus preparation time, and up to four strategic planning days per year.
We support approximately 12,500 customers in around 5,000 homes in Gloucester. The organisation is one team with a focus to provide safe and secure homes where people in our community can thrive.
Responsibilities
You will join as a Non-Executive Director on our Board and on relevant committees. You’ll use your expertise to challenge and positively impact our work, particularly in financial services or treasury management. You should bring a perspective that supports the needs of Gloucester and our customers, including potential lived experience in the social housing sector or from groups underrepresented on boards. Training and support will be provided. You will help ensure customer interests stay at the heart of strategic decision-making and contribute to the governance of the organisation.
Qualifications and experience
Required: expertise in financial services or treasury management; a passion for Gloucester and the ability to influence and challenge at board level. Desirable: lived experience in social housing or from underrepresented groups (e.g., people with a disability). An understanding of, and interest in, the housing sector and the regulatory context is useful but not essential. Diversity and representation are important to us, and our board reflects the communities we serve.
