Senior Quantity Surveyor
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our well-established client based in Nuneaton on a full-time permanent basis.
This role is hybrid as it is office, home and site based.

This is a high-responsibility role reporting to the Commercial Director, working across a wide range of projects throughout the UK.
You will work autonomously while maintaining a strong interface with Estimating and Finance teams to ensure project profitability and risk management.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (flexibility required)
Salary:
£55,000 per annum

Day-to-day duties:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
Review and agree Subcontract conditions, mainly under NEC and JCT contracts
Monitor and report costs and revenue to assess financial outcomes and profitability
Manage applications for payments and resolve late or disputed monies
Undertake ongoing and post-contract administration
Check client creditworthiness and manage payment processes or insurance requirements
Liaise with Estimating and Contracts teams to meet company objectives and report risks
Monitor project performance, visit sites regularly, and report issues to the Commercial Director
Ensure stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations
Assist with the training of junior Quantity Surveyors
Manage subcontract accounts from procurement through to final account
Support tendering and procurement processes, including supplier and subcontractor procurement
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will need:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in Civil Engineering or Construction
Experience within specialist sub-contracting organisations or geotechnical/piling sectors desirable
Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant formal commercial qualification highly desirable
Strong understanding of construction processes, plant, equipment, and materials
Experience working for both Main Contractors and Sub Contractors
Good working knowledge of NEC and JCT conditions of contract
Commercially aware with excellent numeracy and analytical skills
Strong negotiation, communication, and client liaison skills
Excellent organisational and IT skills, including project costing software
Training:
Full training will be provided, with ongoing development support.
