What you’ll be doing
Design Leadership & Direction
1. Lead the design execution of campaigns and brand work, translating creative concepts into outstanding visual design
2. Set design standards and quality benchmarks for all visual work on your brand
3. Provide clear art direction and design guidance to your team throughout the creative process
Team Management & Development
4. Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team of graphic and digital designers, overseeing workload, nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative, supportive creative culture.
Design Execution & Quality Control
5. Oversee design production across all channels - digital, print, social, outdoor, retail etc, ensuring brand consistency, technical accuracy, creative excellence and accessibility standards are met throughout every deliverable.
Brand Stewardship
6. Act as guardian of visual brand identity and design consistency, contributing to the evolution of brand guidelines, design systems, and visual standards; overseeing brand systems and asset libraries and ensuring all creative work strengthens brand identity
Collaboration & Workflow
7. Work closely with the Principal Creative to execute their creative vision, collaborating across creative, digital, production and client-facing teams to bring design concepts to life from idea through final delivery.
Design Systems & Processes
8. Drive efficient, high-quality design delivery by creating scalable design systems, streamlined workflows and rigorous quality controls.
Creative Problem Solving
9. Find creative solutions when briefs have complex constraints or technical challenges
10. Troubleshoot design issues and provide solutions that maintain creative intent
11. Balance creative ambition with practical considerations like budget and timeline
Stay Current & Inspire
12. Keep up with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies
13. Experiment with new design techniques, software, or approaches
14. Attend industry events or engage with design communities
The skills and experience you'll have under your belt
Essential Experience
15. Significant experience in graphic or visual design, with a strong ability to create impactful, high‑quality work.
16. Experience leading, coaching, or supporting a team of designers in a collaborative environment.
17. A portfolio that showcases creative excellence across a variety of channels, formats, and brand work.
18. Hands‑on experience delivering integrated campaigns from initial concept through to final execution.
19. Experience working with well‑known consumer brands or similarly complex brand environments.
20. A track record of maintaining brand consistency while still finding opportunities to push creativity.
21. Experience managing design production and working effectively with external suppliers or partners.
Highly Desirable
22. Experience working within an in‑house creative team, agency, or brand‑side studio.
23. A background spanning both digital and traditional design disciplines.
24. Experience creating or evolving design systems, brand guidelines, or visual frameworks.
25. Understanding of UX/UI principles and how design contributes to seamless user experiences.
26. Knowledge of motion design or basic animation techniques.
27. Experience working in agile or fast‑paced, iterative environments
28. Commitment to ongoing learning through courses, workshops, training, or conferences.
29. Active engagement with the wider design community and a passion for staying connected to emerging trends and tools.
