Evolution group provide a number of services within the construction industry and due to our growing success we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team based in the head office.
An outline of basic duties will include
· Control the cost of projects
· Apply for money from clients against contract terms and dates accurately valuing works
· Analyse the profitability of our works and report trends
· Manage subcontractor works commercially
· Liaise with clients on a day to day basis
· Ensure projects are profitable
More specific duties will include
Client relationships
· Maintain contract documentation and advise on post contract matters
· Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and / or sub-contractors
· Post contract liaison with clients
· Post contract liaison with design team
Project tasks
· Timely preparation and submission of interim valuations
· Manage and value variations
· Preparation and submission of works final account
· Agreement of final accounts
· measure and value the work done on site
· Ensure valuations are priced timely and agreed prior to commencement
Reporting
· Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
· Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
· Produce and present reports.
Site teams
· Carry out take offs for material procurement
· Have a sound awareness of the project, program and the works being undertaken
Sub-Contractors
· Sub-contract negotiation and letting
· Agreement and certification of sub-contractor's interim valuations and final accounts
· Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
Educational Requirement
· 5 GCSE's (A-C Grade) or equivalent including maths (it's also useful if you've taken subjects such as science, law, geography, information technology or design technology).
· A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying (including an industrial placement)
· A minimum of three years' experience of managing elements of construction projects.
Further qualifications include membership to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
