About the role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team to ensure the successful delivery of projects across the Off Site Solutions business. This is a development role where you will gain hands-on experience in commercial management, contract administration and project support. You will assist with data management, reporting, client and supplier communications, meeting coordination and contract documentation, while building strong commercial best practice knowledge. The role requires strong organisational skills, numerical and analytical ability, excellent communication skills, and confidence using Microsoft Office and other business systems

What you'll be doing
1. Contract Management
* Review and draft contract-related documentation
* Support compliance throughout the contract lifecycle
* Execute hard copy agreements (subcontracts, appointments and associated documentation)
* Manage printing, posting, receipt, redistribution and archiving of agreements
* Develop and maintain processes for commercial record-keeping
2. Data Management
* Archive and record all project documentation (electronic and hard copy)
* Ensure documentation aligns with company policies and audit requirements
3. Subcontract Procurement
* Assist with issuing tender packages
* Produce scopes of work
* Analyse priced submissions
* Support issuing subcontract orders
4. Subcontract Payments
* Assist with compilation and issue of payment notices
* Support payment of consultant and supplier invoices
* Learn and support the subcontract payment process within Business Central
* Provide cover for the Payments Administrator when required
5. Client & Supplier Communication
* Liaise with customers and suppliers
* Handle enquiries and support issue resolution
* Maintain smooth and professional communication channels
6. Training & Development
* Receive structured on-the-job training across all responsibilities
* Develop commercial best practice knowledge
7. Additional Support
* Provide wider commercial and administrative support as the role evolves
What you'll bring
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is keen to build a career in commercial management within modular construction.
Essential:
* Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or similar
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* A proactive and willing-to-learn attitude
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a construction, commercial or project support role
* Knowledge of subcontract administration and payment processes
* Understanding of contract documentation and commercial lifecycle
* Familiarity with Business Central or similar finance systems
* Working towards RICS accreditation
