Our Turning Point Scotland Services in Glasgow Alcohol & Drug Crisis Service are looking for people to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on a 1:1 basis or alongside others as part of a team.
Turning Point Scotland Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Crisis Service offers integrated health and social care with low threshold, direct access services for people experiencing a crisis due to alcohol or other drug use, including those who may be homeless. These services include a crisis residential unit, 24-hour Injecting Equipment Provision (needle exchange), wound care, harm reduction advice, signposting and naloxone training and provision. We have partnered with NHSGGC and the Health and Social Care Partnership for over 27 years to provide residential and direct access crisis services in a safe environment that challenges stigma and supports recovery.
We are committed to helping individuals begin their journey to recovery using harm reduction approaches and placing safety at the forefront of care delivery. We aim to help service users strengthen relationships with family, friends and communities to build belonging in society. Care is person-centred and involves people who know the person well, including family and friends, other health and social care professionals, advocacy services and our own staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical and emotional support to individuals with a wide range of needs, helping them to achieve personal outcomes in daily life (e.g., safety, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing).
* Work with individuals on a 1:1 basis or as part of a team within the service.
* Support harm reduction approaches and safety in the care environment.
Requirements and Details
* IT skills are required for all vacancies.
* Where applicable, candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
* Does not require a UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.
* Does not include personal care.
* Does not include cooking and housekeeping skills.
* Service users will not be directly involved in this process.

Turning Point Scotland operates a List of Approved Relief Workers who may be contacted to provide additional support during peak activity or when staff are unavailable. Relief Workers are deployed for leave or sickness and to support periods of peak activity.
