Working from technical drawings and production specifications, you’ll help turn creative concepts into high-quality builds through skilled fabrication, practical problem-solving and careful craftsmanship.
The role would suit someone who enjoys varied project work, is comfortable in a fast-moving workshop environment and takes real pride in the quality of their finish.

Creative Problem-Solving
A big part of the role is helping work out how ambitious ideas can be built well.

Mixed-Material Fabrication
You’ll work with a wide range of materials, including:
* Timber
* MDF, plywood and sheet materials
* Acrylics
* Laminates
* Scenic finishing materials
* Mixed-material components
Experience with different finishes, textures and construction approaches will be valuable.
Workshop Standards and Safe Working
You’ll help maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment.
This includes safe use of tools, machinery and fabrication equipment, along with general workshop organisation, stock handling and material management.
Installation Support
You may also support overnight installations, fit-outs and live project delivery where required.
This could include assembly, finishing, troubleshooting and final execution on site, representing the business professionally during live delivery.
Skills and Experience
Essential
We’re looking for someone with:
* Strong hands-on experience in scenic carpentry, fabrication or bespoke workshop production
* Experience in one or more relevant sectors, such as scenic construction, exhibitions, retail fabrication, theatre, experiential production, window production, set build or branded environments
* Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Excellent practical fabrication and construction skills
* Experience working with mixed materials and bespoke builds
* High attention to detail and finish quality
* A practical, problem-solving approach
* The ability to work calmly under deadline pressure
* A positive, collaborative attitude
* Willingness to support installations when required
Desirable
The following would be useful, but are not essential:
* CNC machinery familiarity
* Scenic finishing or prop-making experience
* Theatre, events or live experiential experience
* Basic understanding of metalwork or mixed fabrication
* Full UK driving licence
* IPAF, PASMA or CSCS certifications
The Ideal Candidate
You’re a skilled maker who enjoys turning creative ideas into physical reality.
You combine scenic carpentry or fabrication experience with a practical mindset, strong attention to detail and genuine pride in the finished result.
You’re comfortable working in a workshop environment where projects change, deadlines are tight and collaboration matters. Whether you’re building from drawings, solving a practical challenge or supporting a live install, you bring energy, care and a commitment to doing the job properly.
