Overview: We are recruiting an Agile Coach to support a single delivery team within a UK government client. This role is team-level rather than organisation-wide, focused on helping a technically capable but historically under-structured team improve how they plan, prioritise, and deliver. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working closely with a team to establish sustainable delivery practices and measurable improvements. Responsibilities Work closely with the delivery team to improve ways of working, flow, and delivery outcomes Coach team members and delivery leadership on effective prioritisation, planning, and feedback loops Introduce appropriate agile and lean practices, tailored to the teams context Help establish clear delivery structures without over-burdening the team with process Support the development of a predictable and transparent delivery rhythm Act as a trusted advisor rather than a process enforcer Collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining a strong team-level focus Essential Criteria: Proven experience as an Agile Coach role Experience improving underperforming or immature teams rather than inheriting high-performing ones Strong understanding of multiple delivery frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) with a non-dogmatic approach Ability to coach and influence, not just implement ceremonies Experience working in complex, regulated, or government environments Desirable Experience Prior experience working within UK government or public sector organisations Background working with technically strong engineering teams Experience operating effectively within tight scope and single-team engagements Ability to balance structure with pragmatism in constrained environments
