We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Teesside. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in their academic and personal development.
The Role
As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students throughout their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting students in lessons, both one‑to‑one and in small groups, to help them understand and engage with the curriculum
Assisting with classroom management to maintain a positive, focused and inclusive learning environment
Encouraging students to build confidence, stay motivated, and reach their full potential
Supporting the development of key academic, social and personal skills across a range of subjects
Helping teachers with lesson preparation and general classroom support where needed
Who We’re Looking For
We are keen to speak with candidates who are:
Positive and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in working with secondary‑aged students
Strong communicators, able to build positive relationships with both students and staff
Reliable team players, happy to collaborate as part of a supportive school community
Organised and proactive, able to adapt quickly and take initiative in the classroom
Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
