Overview
YDP Cambridge are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our brand new Wraparound Care Team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, ensuring that their developmental needs are met through creative play and structured activities. As a Play Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering children's social, emotional, and physical development.
Duties
* Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* To provide and prepare safe nutritional snacks for children.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
* Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and helping them develop social skills.
* Manage behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
* Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment that meets the needs of all children.
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur during play sessions.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
* A background in Early Childhood Education or related fields is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Leadership qualities to effectively manage groups of children during activities.
* Ability to work as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
* A genuine love for working with children and understanding their developmental needs.
* Enhanced DBS is highly desirable but not required. YDP Cambridge can sort this if needed.
