Cover Supervisor – SEND Specialist

Supply Desk are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic specialist SEND school in Rochester, who are seeking an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor or HLTA to join their dedicated team. This full-time, long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, across both primary and secondary phases.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for delivering and adapting pre-planned lessons to suit the individual needs of learners in a supportive, specialist provision. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where strong classroom management and the ability to tailor your approach are key to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects and key stages (Primary and Secondary)
Adapting content to meet the needs of students with a range of SEND, including autism, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs
Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and ethos
Working closely with support staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
Providing constructive feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
Requirements:
Experience working with children and young people with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting
Proven ability to lead or supervise lessons independently
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A flexible, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students
Confidence in working across both primary and secondary key stages
A valid, enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
