As part of Great-West Lifeco, we are committed to building better futures for our customers and employees. Our Home Finance division is at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions, and we are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our Home Finance Product Engineering team.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Rails, React, and mySQL to contribute to the development and maintenance of our Home Finance applications. This role will involve working on cutting-edge projects, enhancing our digital services, and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain applications using Rails, React, and mySQL.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
* Optimise application performance and scalability.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
* Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
* Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
* Participate in technical discussions and provide recommendations for improvements.
* Document system configurations, processes, and code.
* Mentor and support less experienced team members.
Essential Skills And Experience
* Strong experience with Rails, React, and mySQL.
* Proficiency in developing and deploying applications in a cloud-based environment.
* Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with GCP and managing GKE Kubernetes clusters.
* Familiarity with Argo CD for continuous delivery.
* Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
* Understanding of cloud security best practices and identity management.
