A leading US law firm is looking for a Senior Compliance Analyst to join the London office. This is a newly created role and sits within a small, collaborative, and high-performing Risk & Compliance team, which provides advice and support across a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues relevant to the firm’s global legal practice.
The Senior Compliance Analyst will play a key role in managing and conducting client due diligence (CDD) reviews, supporting the firm’s AML and regulatory compliance framework, and overseeing the daily workflow of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities Senior Compliance Analyst:
* Assist with ongoing monitoring of active matters and ensure that CDD records are kept accurate and up to date.
* Conduct risk-based client due diligence (CDD) reviews for new and existing clients, matters, and third-party relationships in line with the firm’s AML policies and procedures.
* Advise and support lawyers and business teams on AML compliance and best practice requirements.
* Act as the first point of contact for queries from junior team members and escalate complex matters where appropriate.
* Oversee and coordinate the workload of junior compliance analysts, providing guidance, feedback, and quality assurance to ensure high standards are maintained.
* Assist in the implementation of new compliance systems, including the transition to a new AML records platform.
* Provide general support to the Risk & Compliance team and contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in a compliance or risk role within a law firm.
* Proven experience conducting CDD reviews, including for complex or high-risk clients and matters.
* Sound understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption legislation.
* Experience supervising or mentoring more junior team members.
