Due to our sustained and continued growth OCUServices are seeking an experienced Civils Supervisorto join ouroperational team based out of Iver and Reading. The role is withinour Power division working on our SSEN New Connections frameworkcovering multiple projects within our operational area along the M4corridor.You will be responsible for the supervision of 4 or 5civils teams at any one time. Overseeing the operational deliveryof civils activities such as substation base casting trenching andjoint bay excavation duct installation and cable pulling on avariety LV 11kV and 33kV electrical distribution projects. You willbe responsible for ensuring the safe successful delivery of allscheduled work to strict deadlines. Liaising with plannersoperational delivery teams customers site agents and the client toproactively manage all civils work aspects.
Responsibilities
* Takingownership of job from receipt tocompletion.
* Allocate and monitor work given toteams to ensure they are compliant safe and delivered ontime.
* Ensure that teams have the correctcompetencies to complete the task allocated tothem.
* Briefing of teams on the works prior tostarting work.
* Deliver toolbox talks to allstaff and return completed sign offsheets.
* Ordering/Delivering/OffHiring/Collection of plant and materials tosite.
* Ensure the correct PPE and equipment isavailable to teams so they can complete the task safely.
* Ensure the correct traffic management in placealong with the correct NRSWA permits whereapplicable.
* Ensure Starting and closing ofNRSWA permits.
* Attend site meetings whenrequired.
* Preparing Job packs including utilitystats and checking they are up to date.
* Carryout any other duties appropriate for therole.
Skills &Experience
* Experience as a CivilsSupervisor managing direct labour and subcontractor teams.
* Knowledge and understand of Street Works TMand permitting requirements.
* Experience dealingwith general public customers andclients.
* Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
* Excellent time managementorganisation skills and able to work to deadlines
* Ability to prioritise own workload and manageexpectations
* Attention todetail
* Experience either working directly for aDistribution Network Operator or for a subcontractor/frameworkpartner working on the electrical distributionnetwork
* Experience using SSENs EO Web onlinemapping system(desirable)
