Finance Business Partner - BSS - Coventry - Fixed Term Contract
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the BSS finance team. If you have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices with a commercial focus, as well as experience in business partnering, budgeting and reporting, then we want to hear from you!
This role will be hybrid working from home and twice a week in the BSS Crosspoint Coventry office, CV2 2TU.
What you’ll do:
To provide support to the commercial and supply chain teams within BSS, ensuring the delivery of the long term goals of the business. This role is a really good role for the right candidate, who can really make a difference to the business. The role requires an individual who is highly inquisitive, comfortable working in a fast pace environment, can see the big picture and is able to deliver change and influence at a senior level.
There is real variety in this role:
Commercial Purchasing & Category Support
1. Margin Analysis: Evaluate category performance to identify "margin leakage" and recommend pricing or sourcing adjustments.
2. Supplier Negotiations: Provide data-driven dossiers for the purchasing team to use during annual negotiations, focusing on rebate structures, payment terms, and volume discounts.
3. Tender Support: Model the financial impact of new HVAC product launches and large-scale procurement contracts.
Supply Chain & Logistics Optimisation
4. Cost-to-Serve Modeling: Analyse the profitability of different distribution channels
5. Inventory Efficiency: Partner with the Supply Chain Director to reduce working capital by identifying slow-moving stock and optimising stock-turn.
6. Logistics Analysis: Review freight, warehousing, and "last-mile" delivery costs to ensure the distribution network is lean and cost-effective.
Performance Reporting & Insight
7. Advanced Reporting: Develop and maintain bespoke commercial dashboards that move beyond standard reporting into "predictive" insights.
8. Variance Analysis: Lead the month-end review for commercial overheads and gross margins, explaining the "why" behind the numbers to non-finance stakeholders.
9. Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the rolling forecast for commercial rebates and supply chain costs.

10. Qualified or Qualified by experience Accountant
11. Experience of Multi site branch operations business
12. Ability to work across business areas
13. Curious and inquisitive nature
14. Comfortable working with colleagues outside of the finance function
15. Data mastery of Excel, Google Sheets, Looker and phocas (desired)
16. Commercial Finance Experience (desired)
17. Builders Merchant Experienced (desired)
18. Experience of contract support / Claimbacks (desired)
19. Experience of modern ERPs system (Kerridge / ERP1 desired)
20. Experience of Contract support, Rebates and Stock accounting (desired)
