A well-regarded secondary school in Cambridge is seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Administrator to join its busy pastoral and admin team. Attendance is treated as a whole-school priority, and this role is central to ensuring information is accurate, follow-up is timely, and families receive clear communication. About the Role As Attendance Administrator, you will support the daily monitoring and recording of attendance and punctuality, ensuring registers and systems are up to date and that absence is followed up promptly and professionally. Key responsibilities will include: Monitoring daily attendance, ensuring accurate and timely recording across year groups Completing first-day response processes (calls/messages/emails) and logging outcomes clearly Maintaining accurate attendance records and producing reports to support pastoral leaders Identifying patterns of absence and highlighting concerns for appropriate follow-up Supporting attendance meetings by preparing information and maintaining documentation Liaising professionally with families regarding absence, punctuality and school routines Supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures through accurate attendance information Working confidently with the school’s systems and spreadsheets (training provided as needed) This role suits someone who is calm, organised and consistent — able to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy every day. The Team You will work closely with pastoral teams, safeguarding staff, heads of year and senior leaders. Key Information Location: Cambridge Start Date: ASAP / next term (or by agreement) Contract: Full-time, permanent (or as agreed) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience What the School is Looking For The successful candidate will ideally have: Experience in administration, attendance, data, school office work or similar Strong attention to detail and confidence working with records and systems Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner Confidence using IT systems (email, spreadsheets, databases/MIS platforms) Ability to work calmly under pressure and handle sensitive information Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school setting School-based experience and familiarity with MIS systems (e.g., SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom) is desirable, but training can be provided for a strong candidate.
