About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join a leading residential developer, working on large-scale, residential-led projects. This is a pivotal role that spans the entire development lifecycle—from feasibility and planning through to delivery and handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Feasibility & Acquisition:
o Assess potential development opportunities, including site appraisals and financial viability.
o Prepare and present feasibility reports to senior management.
* Planning & Design Coordination:
o Manage planning applications and liaise with local authorities.
o Coordinate design teams to ensure compliance with planning, building regulations, and company standards.
* Stakeholder Management:
o Engage with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
o Negotiate agreements with landowners, statutory bodies, and utility providers.
* Delivery Oversight:
o Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards throughout construction.
o Provide technical and commercial input to resolve issues promptly.
* Handover & Completion:
o Ensure all legal, technical, and compliance requirements are met for successful handover.
o Support post-completion reviews and lessons learned.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Development Manager within residential property development.
* Strong understanding of UK planning regulations and development processes.
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.Strong communication and leadership skills.
