We are seeking a Technical SME (Team Leader) to play a key role in delivering world-class technical services in line with OneISS standards. Reporting to the Technical Services Director, the role ensures defined technical subject areas are interpreted correctly and assured to meet client, regulatory, and operational requirements. This role leads a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) responsible for critical compliance-led services including water, fire, asbestos, lifts, and specialist subcontractor delivery. By maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant operations, the Technical SME Team Leader supports ISS\'s ambition to become the world\'s greatest service organisation while strengthening operational performance and client confidence.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Technical SME team to deliver high-quality, reliable technical assurance across defined subject areas.
* Maintain high standards of service delivery by monitoring performance, identifying gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with client requirements, building operational rules, and statutory regulations.
* Oversee the timely completion of Work Orders to maintain operational continuity and asset reliability.
* Optimise staff deployment and workloads in collaboration with the Technical Services Director to maximise efficiency.
* Support contractor and vendor activities to ensure safe, compliant, and uninterrupted delivery of maintenance or project works.
* Provide accurate operational data, reports, and equipment evaluations to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Support recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning within the Technical SME team.
* Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering Technical SME services within an FM, TFM, or IFM environment.
* Strong working knowledge of technical safety requirements for critical services delivery.
* Proven experience in building and leading effective technical teams.
* Competence in isolation procedures, permit-to-work systems, and Safe Systems of Work aligned to risk assessments and policies.
* Strong understanding of Work Order Control processes and effective use of CMMS for planned and reactive maintenance.
* Ability to monitor KPIs and produce clear compliance, assurance, and performance reports.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting, certification management, and asset documentation.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
