A well-established business based in Sheffield is looking to appoint a Senior Payroll Assistant to support its expanding payroll function. This permanent role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services, working closely with both the finance and HR teams to maintainpliance and efficiency.
Your new roleIn this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering a reliable and timely payroll service across both weekly and monthly cycles. Key duties include:
1. Processing payroll and employee expenses with precision and punctuality
2. Verifying and approving expense claims in line withpany policy
3. Handling payroll administration and generating reports as required
4. Maintaining accurate payroll records and data integrity
5. Advising HR and employees on payroll-related queries and procedures
6. Ensuringpliance with current legislation and internal policies
7. Reviewing and enhancing payroll processes to drive efficiency
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you’ll bring:
8. Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and UK payroll legislation
9. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
10. Proficiency in Excel and experience withputerised payroll software
11. Confidentmunication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
12. Previous experience in a payroll-focused role, ideally within a busy finance environment
