About the Role
We are looking to hire a Homelessness Prevention Officer who will support applicants who have been assessed as not in priority need for interim accommodation. The successful candidate will apply the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act to help people engage with the homeless application process and maintain or find a suitable, settled home. The post involves finding creative solutions to housing needs, working with colleagues to improve service delivery, advising people on housing issues and welfare benefits, assessing support needs, partnering with agencies to find sustainable solutions, and carrying out assessments under homelessness legislation when preventive action is not possible. The role also includes conducting home visits, building relationships with city services, and working to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
