Senior Logistics Capacity Manager 1165CW Hinkley Point, Bridgewater, Somerset Long term £480 PAYE or £650 Umbrella per day Job Purpose / Overview Hinkley Point C is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain to be built. An incredible endeavour with 22,000 people working on the project in the UK and supporting 71,000 jobs across Britain by the end of construction. Post commissioning, HPC will provide zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes, essential for Britain’s future energy security. The Logistics team delivers overarching command and control as well as acting as a centre of excellence for the end to end logistics process at HPC. We are the intelligent owners of the logistics process and strategy, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the HPC project. The Logistics Operations Capacity Lead is responsible for the off-site Logistics capacity management. They are accountable for consolidating inputs and updates of warehouse capacity and inventory from 3PL, to the Logistics plan, and to support identification of mitigating actions, owners and escalations for known warehouse. They will work with key stakeholders in the Logistics function to work on the plan for demand for Logistics services in line with the overall project 12-month plan. The Logistics Operations Capacity Lead will report into the Senior Logistics Planning Manager and work closely with the Construction Logistics Capacity Planner and Logistics Analyst. Principal Accountabilities Team: • Works closely with Senior Logistics Planning Manager to provide inputs to the plan • Works closely with Senior Logistics Operations Manager for agreement on mitigating actions, and gathering alignment from mitigating action owners including 3PLs, PMs, Expeditors etc. • Engages with 3PL partners to consolidate and coordinate data inputs from Warehouse 3PL systems to generate capacity and inventory visibility • Build and maintain robust relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to enhance the effectiveness of logistics planning Knowledge & Skills • Background in warehouse and Logistics operations, providing valuable insights into operational requirements • Experience in Logistics planning and operations in the construction industry, or other relevant industry • Experience in Technical data management • Analytical, inquisitive with an ability to identify patterns and constraints • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Understanding of how the Integrated Planning process • Clear and effective communication with internal and external teams to escalate and get feedback on Logistics Operations capacity and constraints • Effectively communicates issues in simple ways, to both technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes Qualifications & Experience • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree • At least five years’ experience working in Logistics or Supply Chain Planning (or similar operation) in a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear, aerospace, engineering, or energy) • Experience of practical application of Logistics and Planning frameworks and methodologies and demonstrable positive business outcomes • Experience in using planning technology solutions to manage delivery • Experience of supporting teams to maximise the delivery • Experience of working in a large integrated team over the full lifecycle of a project • Experience in the use of a risk management tool such as ARM • Experience in presenting complex information across different levels of an organisation • Experience in the Nuclear sector
