Forensic Laboratory Officer
Location: RSSS, Calder Park, Wakefield
Contract: Permanent, Full time Position (37hours per week)

West Yorkshire Police, as the lead force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Forensic Laboratory Officer to join our Forensic Enhancement Laboratory in Wakefield.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of criminal investigations across the region by delivering high-quality forensic mark enhancement services.

Key Responsibilities
•Conduct forensic mark enhancement techniques in a laboratory setting.
•Capture and process digital images for forensic analysis.
•Maintain accurate records using casework and crime management systems.
•Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards and internal quality procedures.
•Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Essential Requirements
•A degree in a science-based subject or equivalent operational experience.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and relevant casework/crime systems.
•Strong visual quality control and workload prioritisation skills.
•Full UK/European driving licence.
•Willingness to provide biometric samples for police elimination databases.
•Ability to complete in-house training and a safe lifting course.
