Title: Supply Chain Planner
Salary: Dependent on experience
Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5:00pm and Friday 8.30am - 2.00pm (37.5 hours)

You will oversee short and mid-term production planning, release manufacturing orders, and manage inventory to ensure on-time delivery targets are consistently met. By coordinating with suppliers, monitoring capacity, and providing timely stock information to the Customer Service team, you will help optimise efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and maintain excellent service levels. The Supply Chain Planner Role:
* Coordinate the release of manufacturing orders to Operations, ensuring materials are available and production schedules are met.
* Deliver accurate stock and inventory insights to the Customer Service team to support new orders, changes, and demand planning.
* Plan and schedule production to meet operational targets while minimising excess inventory and material waste.
* Continuously review production capacity and workloads, identifying potential bottlenecks and proposing solutions to maintain efficiency.
* Collaborate with the Material Planning team to anticipate and resolve supply or delivery challenges that could affect production.
* Evaluate and manage tooling modification requests to prevent disruption to customer delivery timelines.
* Prepare and manage purchase orders for traded items, components, compounds, consumables, and subcontracted services to ensure optimal on-time delivery.
* Maintain proactive communication with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and escalate issues when needed, supporting supplier relationship management.
* Provide the Production team with timely and accurate material delivery information to aid planning and execution.
* Update and maintain planning parameters and supplier data within ERP system to ensure effective and reliable production planning.
* Track and report departmental KPIs to monitor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in contract review meetings, contributing insights to ensure operational commitments are achievable.
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall departmental effectiveness.
You’ll Need:
* Proven ability to work independently, perform well under pressure, and stay focused on achieving goals
* Skilled in data analysis and interpretation to support informed decision-making. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication capabilities
* Passionate about automating and standardising processes to enhance efficiency
* Collaborative mindset with a focus on sharing ideas and contributing to continuous improvement
* Demonstrates a proactive, “can-do” attitude and fosters team engagement
* Good knowledge of MRP systems and production/material planning processes. Solid understanding of inventory control and management principles
* Logical thinker with a methodical and results-oriented approach
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Desirable: Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
* Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft packages, Excel, Word and Outlook
