Job Details
* Job title: Senior Physiotherapist
* Grade: Hospice Band 6a
* Hours: Part-time hours, up to 22.5 hours per week
* Location: Saint Francis Hospice, Havering-atte-Bower, Romford RM41QH
* Reports to: Therapies Manager
* Salary: £22,182 to £26,275 per annum (for part-time 22.5 hours per week)

Main duties / Responsibilities
* Undertake specialist physiotherapy assessment and design management programs for people with complex problems in palliative care, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Support and participate in planning and ongoing service development of the physiotherapy service, working with the Therapies Manager.
* Promote the values of specialist palliative care and ensure equitable access to the physiotherapy service.
* Act as a resource for palliative care physiotherapy; provide advice, education and support to the Therapies Team and wider multi-professional hospice team.
* Keep up to date with developments in palliative care physiotherapy; maintain clinical practice and procedures in line with best practice and current research; monitor standards of care as outlined by the Therapies Manager.
* Contribute to local, regional and national networks/forums for specialist palliative care physiotherapy.
* Deputise for Therapies Manager as required.
Qualifications
* Essential: Diploma/degree in physiotherapy; Registered with the HCPC; Evidence of CPD.
* Desirable: Registered Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Experience
* Essential: Broad physiotherapy experience at a band 6 level; experience in management of complex patients; effective communication skills; understanding of confidentiality; knowledge of palliative care physiotherapy; awareness of risk management and clinical governance; self-awareness of competency levels.
* Desirable: Experience of community physiotherapy; experience of teaching/facilitating others.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
* Understanding and promotion of multi-professional team-working.
* Innovative, motivated and enthusiastic; flexible and adaptable.
* Ability to operate computer systems.
* Clinical supervision ability (desirable).
Professional / Leadership
* Ability to lead with honesty, integrity and care; empower and delegate; contribute to hospice strategy; be accountable and motivated to inspire others.
Other Requirements
* Travel within operational area; current valid driving licence with business insurance (Essential).
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of recruitment.

We are a charity and not part of an NHS Trust; located in Havering-atte-Bower, Romford. We support 5 Clinical Commissioning Groups with a robust governance structure. We provide onsite clinical services within a modern 18-bed Ward, and various community services. We also have the Pepperell Education Centre with education programmes.
